Social Worker Local Recovery Coordinator

Duties of the Social Worker Local Recovery Coordinator include but are limited to:
Functions as a champion and advocate for the recovery model. Serves as a recovery ombudsman to the MH Director, program managers, and staff on recovery and implementation of recovery-oriented services. Develops a 3-5-year plan for the facility that identifies staged implementation of recovery-oriented services (e.g. use of recovery plans). Coordinates the evaluation of recovery implementation measures to assess recovery policy and procedure adherence, as well assess the extent that the recovery model is embodied in the MH programs. Develops a facility recovery education plan for providers and veterans and their families. Serves as a consultant to MH programs and recovering veterans in the development of peer support groups, consumer counseling, and consumer operated services, as per local needs and resources. Assists with VA regional or local recovery orientation trainings, meetings, or conferences as needed. Serves as MH Liaison to the facility Consumer Council. Provides case management and supportive services, to include early interventions, in Veteran's homes and in community settings. Spends 25% of time engaged in direct clinical services providing recovery-oriented care to seriously mentally ill veterans. Work Schedule:

Have a master's degree in social work from a school of social work fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). Graduates of schools of social work that are in candidacy status do not meet this requirement until the school of social work is fully accredited. A doctoral degree in social work may not be substituted for the master's degree in social work. Verification of the degree can be made by going to the CSWE website to verify if that social work degree meets the accreditation standards for a master of social work. A transcript must be submitted with your application. Licensure:
Persons hired or reassigned to social worker positions in the GS-185 series in VHA must be licensed or certified by a state to independently practice social work at the master's degree level. Current state requirements may be found on the OHRM website English Language Proficiency:
Social workers must be proficient in spoken and written English in accordance with VA Handbook 5005, Part II, chapter 3, section A, paragraph 3j, this part. Preferred
Experience:
Lived experience in recovery from mental illness. Experience in the recovery model and in transforming health care systems, particularly the VA. Experience as a Mental Health clinician providing direct care. Grade Determinations:
Experience and Education. One year of experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level. Experience must demonstrate possession of advanced practice skills and judgment, demonstrating progressively more professional competency. Candidate may have certification or other post-master's degree training from a nationally recognized professional organization or university that includes a defined curriculum/course of study and internship, or equivalent supervised professional experience. Licensure/Certification. Individuals assigned as social worker program coordinators must be licensed or certified at the advanced practice level, and must be able to provide supervision for licensure, per individual state licensure requirements. Advanced practice level is defined as the ability to provide independent and expert clinical psychosocial and case management services in a specialized area of practice to Veterans who tend to have serious and severe crises. In addition to the experience above, the candidate must demonstrate all of the following professional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities ( KSAs):
1. Knowledge of the program coordination and administration which includes consultation, negotiation, and monitoring. 2. Knowledge and ability to write policies, procedures, and/or practice guidelines for the program. 3. Ability to supervise multidisciplinary staff assigned to the program. 4. Skill in organizing work, setting priorities, meeting multiple deadlines, and evaluating assigned program area(s). 5. Ability to provide training, orientation, consultation and guidance within clinical practice. References:

Daily intermittent walking, standing, bending, stooping, reaching, and carrying of lightweight items required. Case management services provided in the home and community require safety considerations addressed through safety protocols, training, and consultation with Mental Health or program leadership. May be required to work under stressful situations dealing with highly distraught Veterans and/or their families. The incumbent is expected to be able to drive a government vehicle and must have a valid driver's license. See VA Directive and Handbook 5019.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
