Motor Vehicle Operator

This term appointment may be extended up to the maximum 4-years or may be terminated at any time based on funding or the needs of the agency. Major duties include but are not limited to:
Provides non-emergent, safe, and timely transportation of ambulatory and wheelchair veterans and cargo. Operates vehicles with specialized equipment such as wheelchair lifts and tie-downs. Performs preventative maintenance on vehicles Troubleshoots minor problems with vehicles Keeps vehicles clean and properly serviced Interacts in a courteous and respectful manner with a wide variety of people each day Maintains and submits to supervisor as required records and documents such as operator inspection checklists/forms, accident/injury reports, etc. Work Schedule:
The tour of duty for this position is typically Monday - Friday between the hours of 5:

Experience:
A specific length of training and experience is not required, but you must show evidence of training or experience of sufficient scope and quality of your ability to do the work of this position. Evidence which demonstrates you possess the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties of this position must be supported by detailed descriptions of such on your resume. Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Federal Wage System Qualification Standards. SCREEN-OUT ELEMENT:
Your qualifications will first be evaluated against the prescribed screen out element, which usually appears as question 1 in the on-line questionnaire. A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
The driver must be in good physical and mental condition. Light physical effort in reaching, bending, turning, or moving hands, arm, feet and legs to operate hand and foot controls. Moderate physical effort in the frequent handling of objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Considerable physical effort may be required to change tires and make limited emergency repairs such as installing an emergency fan belt or replacing an electrical fuse on open highways. Patient transport vehicle driver must be able to assist patients into and out of the vehicle, which involves physical exertion and frequent stooping, bending, and lifting of patients. Driver must also be able to load and assist wheelchair patients, often with no assistance.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
