Budget Analyst

This position will serve as a Budget Analyst in the Budget and Finance Office in Interior Regions 3, 4 and 5 of the National Park Service. The incumbent is responsible for a variety of budgetary and financial management duties including budget formulation and execution for multiple regional office divisions. The position independently performs transactions within the various financial system as part of reviewing and tracking unobligated balances, providing support to park budget contacts, running financial status reports, and other budget and financial related tasks and assignments. The position will be involved with the budgetary end-of-the-fiscal year closing process for the region. Reviews reports of unobligated balances, provides field support for various automated systems, and is involved with internal control audits and reviews. Duties will be developmental in nature when filled below the full performance level. All qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement-10/15/2020-unless otherwise stated in this vacancy announcement. Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. To receive credit for experience, your resume MUST clearly indicate the nature of the duties and responsibilities for each position, starting and ending dates of employment (month/year), and the resume must reflect either full-time or 40 hours per week. If a part-time work schedule is reflected, the hours must be annotated to ensure proper crediting of specialized experience. To qualify for this position at the GS-09 grade level, you must possess at least one of the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement:
Experience:
At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes activities such as:
monitoring status of funds or financial transactions for an organization; analyzing and reconciling budget and fiscal documents; assisting with or developing budget submissions; generating a variety of written documents, reports, etc., to communicate detailed financial information; and explaining, recommending or providing guidance on financial/budget regulatory or statutory requirements, policies, and procedures. You must include hours per week worked. -OR- EDUCATION:
Successful completion of at least two full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to Ph.D., or equivalent doctoral degree, or LL.B. or J.D., if related. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
