In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. The education requirements listed above apply only to individuals entering DoD GS-1102 positions on or after October 1, 2000. Current civilian personnel in DoD who occupied GS-1102 positions or contracting positions with authority to award or administer contracts above the simplified acquisition threshold in an Executive Department on or before September 30, 2000 are exempt from meeting this requirement. Current military members who occupied a similar occupational specialty to the GS (or equivalent)-1102 or before September 30, 2000 are also exempt from meeting this requirement. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
Specialized experience for GS-13:
Must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal Service which includes:
1) Experience with source selections activities; 2) Experience with Firm Fixed Price & Cost Plus type contracts, pre & post award requirements to include proper usage of Determinations and Findings, contract clauses, amendments, modifications and justifications and approvals; AND 3) Experience developing acquisition strategies/plans. For this job at the GS-13 level, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted for this grade level. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:

Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
