Investigative Analyst

As an Investigative Analyst at the GS-1805-7 level, some of your typical work assignments may include:
Independently gathering, researching, and analyzing various types of data from federal, state, local, and public agencies and developing reports on a variety of investigative intelligence information to support ongoing investigations; Providing administrative support and assistance to USMS Criminal Investigators in accomplishing activities for their assigned warrant cases.; Monitoring court orders to ensure that deadlines are met; and Maintaining prisoner files and records. Qualifications:
To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the required specialized experience for the respective grade level(s) in which you are applying:
You may qualify at the GS-1805-07 level, if you fulfill one of the following
Qualifications:
A. Completion of a 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree in a field of study that demonstrates the competencies required by this position with either (1) a grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 based on a 4.0 scale; (2) a 3.5 GPA based on a 4.0 scale for all required courses completed in a qualifying major field of study at either the time of application or during the last two years of your undergraduate curriculum; (3) class standing of upper third of the graduating class in the college, university, or a major subdivision of the college; or, (4) membership in a National Scholastic Honor Society certified by the Association of College Honor Societies, excluding freshman honor societies (MUST SUBMIT TRANSCRIPTS). OR B. One full year of graduate level education in an accredited or pre-accredited college or university in one of the following related fields:
Criminal Justice, Sociology, Psychology, etc. The education must demonstrate the competencies necessary to do the work of the position (MUST SUBMIT TRANSCRIPTS). OR C. At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service that demonstrates experience in 1) selecting, compiling, analyzing, and summarizing information; 2) identifying facts, considering their relevance to the issue, and arranging them in a logical and clear manner; 3) assessing information and determining whether additional research or review is needed; and 4) establishing and maintaining relationships with personnel at other agencies. (MUST BE REFLECTED IN RESUME) OR D. You must possess a combination of graduate level education and specialized experience to qualify for this position (the percentages of education and experience you possess must total at least 100%). Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
