SUMMARY/PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The Sports & Recreation Staff member is responsible for providing leadership and monitoring of activities in the Gymnasium, Sports Fields, Fitness Deck and other areas that may host Sports and Fitness events. Included are the ongoing monitoring, equipment care, and promotion of all programs related to sports, leagues, tournaments, health, fitness and wellness.
WORK SCHEDULE:
Part-time, up to 19 hours per week. Varied hours, may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
ResponsibilitiesProvide service, leadership and mentoring to all Kroc Center members, guests, staff and volunteer of all ages, ethnicity and backgrounds.Proactively ensure a safe and clean Sports & Recreation environment for all Kroc Center staff, volunteers, members and participants.Provide leadership and monitor activities provided by the Sports and Recreation Department including open gym and sports fields, league play, clinics, tournaments, special events, etc.Give additional support to the Sports & Recreation staff, instructors, interns, coaches, referees and volunteers.Understand how to use and safely operate all Sports and Recreation facilities, equipment and supplies.Assist in the development, improvement and implementation of systems that safeguard any/all facilities, supplies and equipment related to Sports & Recreation programs. Keep daily maintenance records and notify the Sports & Recreation management team of the need for significant or immediate repair of supplies and equipment.Participate in designated staff training.Attend all scheduled team meetings and staff meetings as directed by the Sports & Recreation department.

EDUCATION and/or
Experience:
No prior training or experience required; will train on the job.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certifications.
COMPUTER/PROGRAM SKILLS:
Basic computer knowledge is needed to access time clock and personal information via a web based system.
COMPLEXITY OF DUTIES:
Basic and highly repetitive duties, requiring use of definite procedures, and little individual judgment where work involves little or no choice as to the method of performance.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
Under immediate supervision, performs specifically assigned tasks only as instructed, subject to regular check of performance.
ERRORS AND QUALITY OF WORK:
Probable errors or quality problems easily and quickly detected usually by incumbent and would result only in minor confusion or clerical expense for correction.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
English proficiency sufficient for communication with supervisors, co-workers, clients and customers. Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
