The Product Engineering team builds the notification software that runs campaigns for our clients Fortune 500 businesses processing millions of transactions every day. Interactive Services, a growing division of West Corporation, is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join the Product Engineering team. We need someone who is flexible, creative, and a problem-solver using real-world solutions. We want to implement even more scalability from our systems, processes and people due to our incredible growth. We have a technology mix using multiple languages including Java, SQL, Ruby on Rails, and Spring MVC. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will have responsibility for but not limited to:
Work on highly technical, complex projects.
Research, design and develop new or enhance current applications and or systems to efficiently and effectively meet requirements.
Engineer systems to follow standards and conventions within the SDLC.
Recommend designs that account for best practices in OOD, scalability, reusability, and maintainability, while accounting for practical concerns of the business and market.
Research and recommend future technical needs.
Identify system requirements and analyze specifications.
Provide quality products through complete an accurate unit testing.
Assist with the design of QA test suites
Automate SDLC tasks where appropriate.
Improve software with best practices concurrent with new development.
Build technical and functional skill set to improve self and the organization
Education
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, MIS, or related field required
Master's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, MIS, or related field preferred
Equivalent work experience in a similar position may be substituted for educational requirements.
Experience
Minimum eight years increasingly responsible programming experience using a standard coding language and/or platform required.
Four years' experience writing detailed program design for medium to large sized projects preferred.
Technical
Experience with Java, Unix/Linux, SQL, XML, JSON, Web Services (SOAP, REST), enterprise service bus, MQ, or JMS required
Experience with multiple SDLC methodologies required
Knowledge of Ruby on Rails, Informix, and SQL Server preferred
Intermediate experience with Telecommunications (e.g. VOIP, SIP, RTP, CCXML, MRCP, Spring MVC, etc.) preferred
Knowledge of the patent process preferred
Additional expert knowledge preferred in the following areas:
OO, SOA, Middleware, Integration
Automation
Estimating
Dev Ops
Design Patterns
Data Life Cycle Management
Test-Driven Development
Acceptance Testing
