Job Description
First Data is looking for a highly self-motivated leader with a passion for people and technology. The ideal candidate has proven experience leading and managing in an application development environment. This individual will be responsible for leading a large diverse team of mainframe application developers. Responsibilities will include managing application development in a fast paced environment, resource and project scheduling, employee coaching and development. This individual will also work closely with the product, project management, resource vendors, and peer application development teams to define project priorities and drive project scope and time lines
Job Specific Responsibilities
Responsibilities include: hiring; performance evaluations; objective setting; staffing and capacity planning; project management; interfacing with other IT departments and business groups, building and maintaining strong working relationships with a wide variety and levels of IT and business partners. Provides guidance, planning and direction for the team, monitors expenses and assists with activity prioritization. Experience managing on-shore and offshore professionals. Knowledgeable in application development and quality assurance concepts and SDLC constructs. Recommends strategy for functional and business units supported and ensures the implementation of high-end, business-wide, critical strategy set by senior management. Team responsibilities include application development, code deployments, application performance and capacity monitoring, problem research and resolution and coordinating activities with Project Management, Testing, Service, Operations, DBA and other organizations. Performs additional job duties as assigned.
Candidate Requirements

years of related technical and business experience
5
years of technical leadership experience
Strong knowledge of IT systems, practices and functional units
Experience with complex technical concepts
Provides technical consultation to the business units that they support
Possesses demonstrated work experience within technical discipline
Excellent written and verbal communication, teambuilding, and relationship building skills
Ability to manage and complete multiple technical deliverables on aggressive schedules
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
Preferred Qualifications 4
years of related technical and business experience. Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience and/or Certifications.
