Description
This position is responsible for managing the technology aspects of SAP including SAP Business Intelligence (BI) and reporting, the SAP Business Warehouse (BW), and the SAP Infrastructure. In this role, the manager is responsible for partnerships with business users in all SAP areas including Finance, HR, and Engineering. Additionally, the manager coordinates with other non-SAP technical teams including those in Systems Engineering and Data Center Operations. Lastly, this manager is responsible for SAP BW and Infrastructure deliverables for all SAP capital projects. The SAP BI and BW team is responsible for the development and maintenance of reporting applications and queries for the SAP Business Intelligence Portal. SAP BI subject areas include Finance (Cost Center Accounting, Project Reporting, Timekeeping, etc), HR (Employee & Organization Reporting, eHealthSafe, etc.), and Engineering (Equipment, Facility, etc.). The team is also responsible for the development of the SAP Data Warehouse and support of the SAP Extract, Transform, & Load (ETL) to source data for reporting in SAP BI. This team works closely with business partners and with IT's Data Integration and Enterprise Data Warehouse teams. The SAP Infrastructure team is responsible for the installation and administration of the SAP software and SAP Oracle databases. The team is also responsible for (1) the availability, performance, and monitoring of all SAP systems, (2) SAP Technical Change Management, and (3) SAP Security Administration. This team works closely with Distributed Engineering & Architecture, Distribute Systems Engineering, Web Infrastructure, Information Assurance, and Operations Support.
Accountabilities
Ensure 99% availability of all SAP Portals for 50,000 end users who use the SAP Portals more than 1.2 MM times per month
Lead the development and maintenance of applications and queries using SAP BI technologies including Business Objects
Lead the development and maintenance of the SAP Data Warehouse including the SAP BW ETL
Ensure the accuracy, availability, and security for data in the SAP Data Warehouse
Ensure the timely integration of data in the Enterprise Data Warehouse
Support new SAP projects by integrating new subject areas into the SAP Data Warehouse and ETL processes and ensuring new features are delivered on-time
Lead the administration of SAP ABAP and Java systems, SAP Oracle Databases, and SAP Security
Ensure the availability, performance, and technical change management of the SAP landscape including SAP ECC, BI/BW, Portal, Process Integration, Solution Manager, Gateway, and the SAP Mobile Platform
Oversee the Disaster Recovery testing and process of failing over to the Disaster Recovery site, if needed
Review the various deliverables with business partners to ensure quality assurance and control
Collaborate with team members to ensure standards and best practices are being followed
When necessary, use formal project management tools, techniques, and methods to drive and manage projects of varying scope
Offer recommendations for process improvement
Qualifications
A Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related field
A post-graduate degree (MBA, JD, etc.) or higher
10 year(s) experience in Information Technology including project management, applications development experience.
5 year(s) experience / knowledge in a management / professional position including employee management and oversigt of onshore/offshore support teams
Advanced communication skills including ability to act as liaison between various IT teams and business partners to ensure successful delivery of projects
