Software QA Engineer/Interactive Services

West Interactive Services is looking for an experienced Software Quality Assurance Engineer (SQAE) to join our Quality Engineering and Innovation group.
Charged with leading the testing effort of the team's more challenging testing endeavors, the Software QA Engineer will design and implement each stage of the testing process. Coordinating with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle, he or she will design comprehensive test strategies which employ creative and thorough solutions to complex testing obstacles. During testing, the SQAE will lead research and investigation of discovered defects, taking point on driving issue resolution. Testing and reporting documentation created by the SQAE becomes canon for the team, so experience writing professional test documentation to various audiences is expected.
A strong sense of innovation is integral to the success of the Software QA Engineer. Testing of West's varied platforms and products demands both development of custom automated testing frameworks and integration into unified testing workflows. The SQAE must therefore be eager to research new methods and technologies, incorporating them to improve existing automation processes. Python is the team's language of choice, and development opportunities include: web applications, custom testing tools, automated regression suites, API frameworks, protocol-level component simulators, and performance test user-agents.
Responsibilities and required skills:
? Design and execute the stages of the testing process, including test plans, strategies, scenarios and procedures for testing infrastructure and platforms.
? Lead testing efforts for large/high-profile projects, often coordinating a team of testers.
? Develop workflows, documentation, and business practices used by the testing team.
? Collaborate with stakeholders during project planning, development, testing.
? Hands-on development of reusable test suites and automation.
? Maintain clear documentation, and report testing progress during projects.
? Prioritize multiple tasks effectively and communicate progress well among teams.
Preferred Technical skills:
? Familiarity with open-source software platforms is a must -- Linux or other UNIX, open source languages, etc.
? Development experience in Python and Django preferred, but any solid development background is welcome.
? Automation development experience in SOAPUI, RobotFramework, JUnit, or other industry standard automation tools is a must.
? Experience writing unit/regression test suites.
? Familiarity with client-server systems -- Web APIs, SOAP, SIP messaging, etc.
? Experience with Service-Oriented Architectures and other Enterprise solutions a plus.
