Enterprise Systems Engineer - Unix

Responsible for designing and deploying new technology and enhancements to existing platforms, ensuring the stability, integrity, and efficient operations of information systems that support core organizational functions to multiple business units across the enterprise while remaining consistent with West's corporate policies, procedures, and philosophies; research and recommend technical needs to management in order to provide the most efficient and effective system for the organization; provide leadership and direction on all assigned special projects, ensuring follow through from beginning to end; lead and participate in the activities involved in developing a comprehensive and logical test plan for systems using appropriate tools to ensure established standards are utilized.
Education
Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering, MIS, or a related field required. Equivalent work experience in a similar position may be substituted for educational requirements.
Experience
Minimum three years experience designing and deploying complex platform solutions required.
Minimum one year project coordination experience preferred
Minimum five years experience working in a multi-platform IT environment, including direct experience with one or more of the following operating systems: Microsoft Windows, Unix/Linux, or Solaris required
Minimum three years technical experience with installing, configuring, and supporting enterprise-class server hardware and associated equipment required.
Minimum three years operating systems management and troubleshooting experience required.
Other
Advance knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required.
