Mid-level Enterprise Storage Administrator - OMA

In this role you will be responsible for administering and monitoring the organization's storage infrastructure, while ensuring high levels of storage system reliability, availability, and capacity while remaining consistent with West's corporate policies, procedures, and philosophies; install, upgrade, replace, and configure storage infrastructure components ensuring storage resources meet customer requirements; participate in the planning/design process for new storage-related projects and recommend solutions to best meet the project requirements; analyze storage equipment performance, collect information, and prepare summary reports.
Education:
Associate's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in computer science, information systems, electrical engineering, or a related field is required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
Equivalent work experience in a similar position may be substituted for education requirements
Experience:
Minimum two years experience with administering tape/disk storage systems in complex configurations required.
One year experience in call center operations or telecommunications preferred.
Technical:
Hands-on storage management and troubleshooting experience required.
Experience designing and deploying complex Storage Area Networks preferred.
Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment preferred
Competent skill set in: backup, recovery, and archive; storage availability; storage management; content/information management; systems integration required.
Demonstrated knowledge of SAN, NAS, DAS, RAID, SCSI, and Fibre Channel technologies preferred.
Familiarity with industry standard LAN/WAN standards required.
Solid skills in Windows 2003 server and/or Unix (AIX 5.x and RHEL 3.x/4.x) operating systems required.
Working technical experience with installing, configuring, and supporting enterprise-class disk, tape, and SAN switching systems preferred (EMC and/or IBM and/or McData/Brocade expertise preferred)
Other
SNIA certification as an SCP, or Cisco CCNA equivalent preferred.
