Job Description
Entry level position the incumbent will receive on the job training on how to perform several command center functions which will include but not limited to file transmission monitoring, helpdesk functions and client calls. The candidate will learn how to identify issues that may impact customers by proactively monitoring. Additionally they will learn how to take action to ensure system is at the highest level of performance. Possesses basic knowledge of specific functions or tasks they support. Understanding of working in a high pressure, dynamic, and fast paced environment, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and other projects/duties as assigned is nice to have but not required. The successful applicant must be able to work with others in a team environment while enhancing a positive atmosphere
Candidate Requirements
0 - 2 years experience working with HP Non-Stop (Tandem) and/or Stratus Systems
0 - 2 years experience working with servers (UNIX, Linux, AIX and Windows)
0 - 2 years experience working with AS400 systems
0 - 2 years experience working with Communication/Data transfer protocols (IP, TCP, HDCP, HTTP, FTP, Telnet, SSH, POP3, SMTP, IMAP, Informix, NDM & Cyberfusion)
0 - 2 years experience working with TSO, ISFP, SDSF, SYSVIEW and IOF
0 - 2 years working with ITIL ticket systems; CA Service Desk experience is plus
Basic understanding of ITIL (Service Desk, Incident Mgmt, Problem Mgmt, Change Mgmt, Configuration Mgmt, Service Level Mgmt/SLAs)
Strong oral communication skills. First Data Technicians are expected to be able to interact with both technical and non-technical staff.
Basic understanding of how Firewall(s) and Networks function
Basic understanding of batch job processing, batch abend troubleshooting and batch job restart processes
Basic understanding of how MQ Series & Databases function
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Basic customer service and phone etiquette skills. Basic understanding of a multi-line phone system.
Basic computer skills and comfort level with Windows OS & Microsoft software (MS Office, EXCEL, WORD, Outlook). Type 40 words per minute.
Basic understanding of Credit and Debit transaction processing
