Job Description The Information Technology Operations Technician II provides daily technical analysis for multiple Mainframe and Distributed systems both in the areas of batch and system functionality. This role monitors and controls Mainframe, Distributed and Tandem multi-technology computing platforms, applying first or second level analysis using industry accepted techniques and procedures, to identify, correlate and correct system degradation or stoppages on host or off-host platforms.
Job Specific Responsibilities Ensure a stable operating environment that attains maximum utilization of system facilities. This role will also focus on identifying, diagnosing and resolving production batch and online issues. Response to in-house & client inquires is also a critical component. This role will provide and review Standard Operational Procedures (SOPs) to help escalate, document, notify, and prioritize production issues. A part of these SOPs will also be participating and performing in disaster recovery tests as needed. This role should have a keen understanding of First Data's Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and be able to act quickly to identify potential incidents that could lead to missed SLAs or negative business impactors. Finally, this role provides technical support and guidance to the Command Center Operations Team and maintains operating records for the change control process and incident production reports.
Candidate Requirements 2
yrs of related operational IT experience.
Bachelors or Associate's degree desired but not required.
Strong operational knowledge of Mainframe and Distributed technologies and their operating systems and components.
Proficient in the Mainframe job scheduler CA-7, JobTrac and Job Control Language JCL and other Unix and Tandem applications and tools.
