Key Functions
Ensures successful operation (functional, operational and procedural) of specific application areas supported by ITS, including data quality, education and end-user support.
Supervises projects including the coordination of resources and provides support on related application projects.
Supervises staff including daily oversight of normal operations, mentoring, issues management, assignments and routine communication.
Responsibilities
Supports the business areas in identifying application enhancements and optimization opportunities.
Supports the development of strategic and tactical plans and business process re-engineering for business areas that use these application systems.
Provides operational guidance to influence adherence to the IT organizational goals and objectives.
Provides input on SLA's and ensures targets are met.
Ensures the integrity of electronic data, achieved by managing thorough analysis of vendors and their products, and creating and adhering to process methodologies, policies and procedures for software support and maintenance.
Supervises maintenance activities of application systems and assures the effective integration and utilization of installed capability.
Provides input on budgets and assures adherence to approved budgets.
Supervises and mentors staff and helps coordinate cross training opportunities with other application groups.
Supervises developers/analysts including, but not limited to, hiring, counseling, scheduling, performance evaluations, coaching, and career development.
Serves as point of escalation for managing application vendors for issue resolution.
Additional tasks/responsibilities as defined.
May require on-call coverage responsibilities

Qualifications:
Skills, Requirements, and Certifications
(Includes specific or unique technical skills / knowledge/ experience)
Bachelor's Degree in related field or may substitute an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Demonstrated leadership capabilities
Experience in supporting and/or managing healthcare applications (Clinical, Patient Management, ERP, Enterprise, Web, etc) is preferred.
7 years total IT/application experience required.
Ability to manage and work on multiple projects at the same time.
Organizational skills to facilitate a productive working environment.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Knowledge of industry standard practices in IT support function.
Proven organizational skills and time management.
Healthcare experience preferred
Experience in ITIL environments preferred.
Must have demonstrated knowledge and/or skills in the following areas:
o Knowledge of the application of computer technology within healthcare.
o Knowledge of business processes that utilize these enterprise applications.
o Knowledge of system and application development.
o Experience with report development tools.
Interactions, hand-offs
Collaborates with Application staff in managing and coordinating daily operations for the team.
Confers with management regarding hiring decisions and counseling, including disciplinary action.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
