# Job Description
This IT Director will lead a team of technicians whose primary responsibility will be OS and Middleware software upgrades and supporting product installations. The director will develop and execute a standard process to upgrade the various components including the 3rd party software components associated with them. The upgrade process will include a standard migration plan, 3rd party dependencies, and any application considerations. The team will work directly with the application team to plan and implement the upgrades. Strong organization skills and communication are required. The IT Director will also work with the application owners to ensure the upgrades are planned well in advance of EOL

# Candidate Requirements
Experience in the distributed IT industry,
Previous experience in migration and upgrades,
Strong knowledge of the Unix, windows, and middleware components
Additional requirements are:
Responsible for managing people; hiring, performance management and reviews.
Provides guidance, planning and direction for functional units they support.
Proactively allocates resources and maintains and controls expenses.
Recommends strategy for functional and business units they support and ensures the implementation of high-end, business-wide, critical strategy set by senior management.
Manages two or more diverse functional units.
Allocates resources to support IT strategy.
Requires minimal direction from manager on hiring, firing, performance reviews and compensation administration.
Resolves routine issues.
Escalates serious issues to more senior management.
Leader for assigned resources.
Coaches direct reports and subordinates within the functional units they support.

Strong knowledge of IT systems, practices and functional units.
Strong knowledge of multiple languages and tools.
Provides technical consultation to the business units that they support.
Expert knowledge of business operations, policies and practices.
Strong knowledge of the industry they support.
Recommends IT strategy to support goals of the business units they support.
Very strong organizations skills; able to mulit-task.
Requires 10
years of related technical and business experience.
Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience and/or Certifications

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
