KETV a Hearst Television owned ABC affiliate located in Omaha, NE has an opening for a Part Time Producer/Editor/Photographer. This person will be the part time newscast producer and video editor.
Responsibilities:Job
Responsibilities:
o Produce newscasts primarily for weekend mornings
o Fill in producing for other newscasts
o Assistant producer on a fill in basis
o Edit video for news broadcasts two days per week and as needed for fill-in
o Gather information for news stories
o Shoot video when needed and as other duties allow
o Perform tasks on tight deadlines
Requirements:Qualifications Requirements:
o Four year or associate degree in photography, journalism. Experience in lieu of a degree will be considered.
o Ability to shoot and edit video.
o Demonstrated ability produce newscasts under tight deadlines
o Strong writer
o Understanding of journalism principles
o Leadership
o Ability to carry 30 pounds of camera equipment
o Ability to perform work in adverse weather conditions
o Ability to stand for extended periods of time
Education:Education
o Bachelor or Associate Degree in journalism or related field. Experience in lieu of education will be considered.
Experience:Experience Requirements:
o Experience producing newscasts. Will consider a beginner with the right skills.
o Experience editing video in a news environment on tight deadlines
