Trench Safety, Safety, Risk Management
Program Management: Protects the Companys employees, customers, and assets against losses, injuries and accidents by directing, implementing, and overseeing the administration of safety and key loss prevention programs. Responsible for safety related, regional profit and loss by establishing and delivering claim cost reduction and containment metrics.
Compliance: Ensures safety compliance by overseeing OSHA, DOT, and other compliance related activities. Protects the Companys employees, customers, and assets against losses, injuries and accidents through enforcement of safe work practices. Prevents accidents and other safety exposures by investigating, identifying causes, and developing preventative measures and practices.
Communication: Builds successful business partnerships by communicating with corporate Safety department, customer safety managers, and regional management and employees. Reports to business boards on regional safety issues and performance.
Safety Training: Meets safety and environmental health goals by developing and implementing training programs consistent with governmental regulations and business and customer needs. Coordinates on-site worker and supervisory safety training programs with the insurance carrier,
broker
, and other outside vendors.
Risk Mitigation: Mitigates risk exposure by identifying sources of safety and environmental risk and developing needed programs, policies, and procedures. Avoids legal challenges by understanding current and proposed legislation. Assists with safety and environmental health acquisition due diligence, and coordinates post-acquisition safety rollout programs.
Process Improvements: Ensures internal and external customer satisfaction by recommending best practices. Drives, implements, sustains, and develops quality process improvements that focus on safety, financials, operations, and customer service.
Requires seven (7) to ten (10) years progressively responsible safety related experience to include at least three (3) years management experience. .
Bachelors degree, preferably relating to Safety and Health. Masters degree preferred.
Ability to persuasively communicate with all levels of management. Strong training and presentation skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications and other operations applications.
Occupational Health-Safety and/or accredited professional certification preferred.
Lift, bend, stoop, squat, reach, crouch and kneel. Able to sit or stand for long periods May travel up to 40% of work time. .
