Bacterial Lab Technician
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Biology or related field

years of PCR lab experience
Description:
Assist Molecular biologist with PCR procedures.
Operate thermocyclers, sequencer and Gel Doc System according to specified protocol.
Perform gel electrophoresis as directed.
Perform antigen characterization using appropriate assays such as ELISA and Western blots.
Perform tissue necropsy and gross pathology observation to allow appropriate sample selection for infectious agent isolation.
Receive in and track isolates using electronic laboratory systems.
Isolate and identify pathogenic bacteria from clinical specimen.
Carry out serotyping and other identification procedures on pathogenic bacteria.
Pass pathogenic bacteria in pure culture for autogenous seed.
Prepare and store autogenous bacterial seeds.
Perform in-vitro antibiotic sensitivity testing.
Prepare and Gram stain slides of various organisms.
Perform infectious agent characterizations including toxin testing.
Transport media and glassware between warehouse and production areas.
Autoclave infectious materials generated in Diagnostics, PCR, and R&D areas.
