Job Description: Your Piece of the Puzzle
As NFM s Legal Coordinator, you will be responsible for preparing and filing legal documents. You will provide professional knowledge to the bankruptcy/ recovery department and act as the primary contact with debtor s attorneys, account holders, NFM s outsource attorneys, and court systems.
Job Duties: A Day in the Life
Certify or ensure the Legal Administrator becomes certified with all bankruptcy courts throughout the country as the need arises
Open all new bankruptcy cases index cases, and edit POPS
Draft legal documents reaffirmation agreements, redemptions, proofs of claim, etc. Calculate fair market value. Draft correspondence to debtors attorneys.
Process bankruptcy pleadings (order of dismissal, Chapter 13 plans, and trustee s treatment of claim, notice of recovered assets, discharge of debtor) and file Proof of Claims and Reaffirmation Agreements electronically with bankruptcy courts
Perform all case management functions and determine appropriate handling for all accounts assigned to in-house bankruptcy/legal department
Negotiate with debtor and debtors attorneys to reaffirm, redeem, or surrender.

Qualifications: Can You Check These Boxes?
Associate s degree or college coursework in a paralegal program or business administration or related field required. Bachelor s degree preferred.
3-5 years of experience with legal accounts or asset recoveries, or as a paralegal
Valid driver s license and ongoing, acceptable driving record is required
Ongoing acceptable credit is required
Ability to perform work that is specialized, complex and varied in nature
Knowledge of Database, Internet, Spreadsheet, and Word Processing software
Pre-employment screening includes, but isn t limited to, credit and criminal background check
