Responsibilities:
The Director of Inclusion and Outreach works with the Omaha Community Playhouse (OCP) leadership to carry out OCP's goals regarding diversity, inclusion, equity, accessibility and belonging.
The ideal candidate will implement practices for organization wide accountability, and connect with staff, local artists, community members and patrons to ensure that all are represented, welcome and included.
Inclusion
Responsibilities:
? Develop and implement program policies, procedures and services regarding diversity, equity, inclusion, accessibility, and belonging efforts ? Work with staff, board, artists and volunteers on inclusivity and its connection to the work done by everyone at OCP ? Work with designated staff to coordinate sensory friendly productions, ASL performances, shadow interpreted performances and audio description ? Create, maintain and update a Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Accessibility and Belonging strategic plan with OCP staff and board ? Act as staff liaison for the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Accessibility and Belonging board committee ? Serve as liaison for the Community Engagement Council ? Partner with Human Resources to create and implement recruiting strategies to attract, identify, and develop high-potential applicants and employees from diverse backgrounds ? Interact with all staff to ensure building-wide understanding of and commitment to diversity and inclusion initiatives ? Develop and assess year-round trainings to encourage a more inclusive and integrative organization ? Create an organizational guide with standardized language for board, staff and others to use in relation to diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility ? Develop goals for measuring the effectiveness of DEIAB initiatives Outreach
Responsibilities:
? Work with community organizations to develop and maintain meaningful partnerships ? Assist in planning events with community partners ? Work with OCP staff members to educate and inform the Omaha community about season productions, special events, and educational initiatives ? Collaborate with artistic and education staff to accomplish strategic outreach goals ? Address challenges and barriers marginalized community members face when interacting with OCP and make recommendations to build a more inclusive community ? Attend/join community groups and civic organizations to enable OCP to connect more fully with, and be more visible to all segments of the community ? Develop goals for measuring the effectiveness of outreach initiatives ? Occasionally attend auditions and rehearsals ? Other duties as assigned Administrative
Responsibilities:
? Prepare and implement annual Community Engagement and DEIAB budgets ? Develop metrics to evaluate the progress of our DEIAB and outreach efforts ? Generate and maintain all department paperwork including PAs/check requests, credit card authorizations, payment requests, refunds, invoices, online registrations, contracts ? Attend department head meetings, staff meetings, board DEIAB committee meetings, play reading and board meetings ? Be informed of and connected to research and best practices in DEIAB ? Member of the Crisis Response Team (CRT) ? Other duties as assigned Minimum
Qualifications:
Skillful in relationship building and creating human connections Active/connected to the theatre arts community Experience providing culturally competent and inclusive support services for individuals from various underrepresented communities Knowledge of the ways intersecting systems of oppression challenge and impact individuals from various underrepresented and marginalized populations Proficient skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and internet use Exceptional skills in written and oral communication, editing, time management, detail orientation, and problem solving Reliable and professional workplace conduct Ability to work independently and as part of a team Flexible schedule to accommodate some evenings and weekends Opening Night Parties Curtain Speech (rotates within staff) Special Events Auditions/Rehearsals Job Type:
