Vice Chair of Research - Department of Surgery
Creighton University Medical Center CHI Health seek to recruit a visionary leader to serve as the Vice Chair for Research within the Department of Surgery, located in Omaha, Nebraska.
The opportunity is ready for partnerships with dynamic divisions with track records in outcomes research, clinical trials research, basic science research and population health.
Our Department of Surgery is one of the nation's highest quality, award-winning programs.
The program is part of our integrated, multispecialty system, augmented by our many resources associated with our academic program including our institute of population health.
Candidates are expected to have extramural funding and robust peer-review publications.
Requirements:
MD, MD MPH, MD PhD, or PhD of any surgical specialty are encouraged to apply Effective inter-personal and communication skills in working with the faculty, house staff and students Summary of administrative duties:
Reports to the Chair of Surgery.
Serves as liaison to Chair and Vice Chair of the Department of Clinical Research, as well as the Institute of Population Health leaders in research endeavors.
Works collaboratively with the Chair in developing and executing a research vision including a business plan, administrative activities and optimization and distribution of funds and resources, recruitment of research faculty and management of research meetings and didactic lecture series.
Oversees all departmental research interest groups including the research endeavors, grants, abstracts, presentations, and publications.
Mentors, coaches and supervises physician and non-physician personnel Leads research by example, including grant submission, publication, and presentations at local/regional/national/international meetings.
Partner with program director to develop and oversee a research curriculum Academic Health SystemCHI Health, affiliated with Creighton University School of Medicine, a reputable and prestigious medical school with strong Jesuit values in education, research and service.
Together, we are shaping a new future for Academic Health and serving as a trendsetting model for academic health system of clinical care embedded in education, research and innovation.
