36 an hour 2 days ago 2 days ago 2 days ago Responsibilities OPPD's T&D Construction Department is looking for two Meter Technican Apprentices to join their team! Assists in the installation, testing, repair, and removal of the District s revenue metering equipment, in a manner that ensures a high level of customer service and employee safety.
Completes the requirements of the Meter Technician Apprenticeship Program.
Specific accountabilities for this include:
Tests, repairs, and modifies all types of meters and associated equipment in the meter shop as well as installs, change-outs, or disconnects all single phase, network, and self-contained polyphase meters, conducts trouble calls and inspections.
Performs any necessary tasks to ensure the complete and accurate metering of all customers.
Learns to properly install and test current transformer meters.
Completes all requirements of the Meter Technician Apprenticeship Program, including all home-study and on-the-job training requirements.
Qualifications Required:
Associate s Degree in in Electrical Technology or the equivalent in work experience Valid driver s license Must demonstrate good mechanical ability Ability to work overtime Must possess the mental and physical capability to complete the Meter Technician Apprenticeship Program in order to eventually progress to Meter Technician.
Must reside or be able to relocate within a thirty-five (35) mile radius of the Service Center.
