Kafka Streaming Engineer

This role requires being onsite 4 days per week We are unable to sponsor for this permanent full-time role Position is bonus eligible Prestigious Fortune 500 Company is currently seeking a Kafka Streaming Engineer.
Candidate will serve as the Kafka Streaming product expert supporting critical revenue generating applications as we build, deliver and support our growing Kafka and Confluent environment.
Candidate will also support the existing Event Streaming (Kafka) platforms.
Assist in installation of new Event Streaming Services (Kafka) platforms.
Builds best practices and ensures adoption of secure development and automation of development and deployment
Qualifications:
A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or 5
years in a related discipline.
Related work experience can be substituted for educational requirement 6
years of experience on Kafka and related systems.
Experience on Linux platform.
Enterprise-class experience implementing and configuring Big Data solutions using Kafka with Cloudera Data Platform Experience using GitLab or equivalent CI/CD tools.
Designing and implementing Kafka solutions, preferably Cloudera or Confluent that include High Availability and Disaster Recovery.
Reviewing Monthly Patches and Fixes for Cloudera services.
Upgrading Cloudera Manager and Cloudera Data Hub /Cloudera Data Platform to the latest version.
Creating automated solutions via scripting and utility development using Ansible, YAML, Salt, and shell scripts.
Experience working on tools such as Kafka Connect, Schema Registry, Flink, Cruise Control, Spark, Snowflake, Streams Replication Manager or Mirror Maker 2.

Experience working with multiple teams consisting of a variety of Infrastructure Engineering groups, as well as Development groups and Client Relationship groups Preferred Skills:
Experience operating and configuring Java Infrastructure/System Engineering experience on Cloud Platforms such as Azure, AWS, PCF Containers, Microsoft Windows and RedHat Linux platforms Experience in the Financial Services industry Software AG webMethods experience a plus MQ experience.
Experience with network troubleshooting.
Experience in analyzing system failures, identify root causes, and recommended course of action.
Experience monitoring and troubleshooting issues with Linux/Unix memory, CPU, OS and storage.
Hands-on experience of handling and maintaining the directory structure and the permissions of Linux file systems and HDFS paths.
Solid understanding of ITIL methodology and process.
Experience with monitoring tools Splunk, DynaTrace, Moogsoft.
Experience with integration with databases such as Oracle, MS SQL Server.
Willingness and capability of quickly learning new technologies required for accomplishing project goals Willingness and ability to produce high quality operational documentation, including Visio diagrams, high-level descriptions of the environment, as well as detailed instructions outlining the steps required to repeat the configuration of the infrastructure.
Experience in Production Support environments and rotational shifts and on-call rotation.
Experience with managing certificates Recommended Skills Amazon Web Services Ansible Apache Flink Apache Kafka Apache Nifi Apache Spark Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
