Position OverviewAs an IT Transportation Lead Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for leading and supporting the transportation technology systems, including OTM and other legacy applications, to support the transportation function across the organization.
You will also be responsible for analyzing business requirements, designing, developing, and implementing transportation technology solutions.
Scoular's Lead System Engineers focus on continuous delivery recognizing the need to introduce new capabilities as business needs change and processes need to be optimized.
They are curious problem solvers that look to exploit technology to deliver business value.
Job Responsibilities Analyze business requirements and work with business stakeholders to define system requirements, identify gaps, and develop technology solutions to meet transportation needs.
Leads the development, testing, and documentation activities according to specifications, standards and system requirements in order to accomplish ideal business results and end to end connectivity of data and systems.
Design, develop, and implement transportation technology solutions, ensuring they align with the overall enterprise architecture and meet best practices.
With internal and external teams, including third-party vendors, to implement technology solutions, ensure successful integration with other systems, and provide ongoing support.
Lead in the design of?software system testing and validation procedures including unit testing, scenario testing and end to end testing Lead others to implement best practices on integrated solutions for complex problems enabling defined business process Identify appropriate risks associated with system changes and?lead in?ensuring proper scheduling, documentation and?implementation in accordance?with defined business processes.
Manages and monitors systems for the organization and ensures alignment with company guidelines and SOPs.
Responds to system failures and performance events by taking appropriate measures to reduce system downtime and eliminate recurrence of problems with continuous improvement mindset.
Collaborate with others by working across boundaries to?ensure best practices solutions are developed.
? Partner with suppliers and technology?providers on innovative solves for complex business issues.
Conduct proactive ongoing and periodic scans of?emerging?technologies.
?Mentor other team members in professional development.
Continuously monitor and evaluate transportation technology systems to identify areas for improvement and optimize performance.
Provide subject matter expertise on transportation technology solutions to internal and external stakeholders, including senior leadership and business teams.

years of experience working with transportation management systems, ideally OTM5
years of experience with global shipping requirements including necessary customs paperwork and filings, for NVOCC ocean container freight to/from multiple countriesIndustry experience working in an agricultural and or commodity based environmentExperience in analyzing business requirements, designing, developing, and implementing transportation technology solutionsStrong project management skills and experience managing cross-functional teams and third-party vendorsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholdersStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability to think strategically and creativelyBachelor's Degree required in Computer Science, MIS, or other relevant degree or Ten plus?years of work experience Seven?plus years of progressive?work experience in IT or related field?
