Rehab Tech Aquatics

OverviewThis is a full time, 32 hour per week position.
The Rehabilitation Technician is a skilled technical worker who works under the supervision of, or according to detailed instructions of the Aquatic Therapy Coordinator and a licensed Therapy professional.
The primary responsibilities of an Aquatic Rehab Technician are to lead exercise groups according to established protocols and assist with treatment programs for patients toward the achievement of the goals of the therapist by:
setting up necessary treatment equipment, carrying out routine or assisting with complex treatments, maintaining the department in a clean orderly condition and participating toward the achievement of mission goals.
Responsibilities Receives work assignments and information concerning the preparation for, and performance of class and therapy activities from the Aquatic Therapy Coordinator and designated therapists.
May provide set up and supervision, as directed by a therapist, for routine treatments such as:
gait training, exercise and the application of hot and cold packs; using techniques in a safe and acceptable manner.
Observes patients during treatments and notifies Therapist of any physical distress or equipment malfunctioning.
Prepares/positions patient for a treatment or evaluation, as directed by a therapist.
Obtains necessary equipment, materials and supplies from storage areas and prepares them for use.
Assist therapist in treatment regimen as needed.
Leads water exercise programs for the community according to established guidelines.
Supervises open pool program.
Performs clerical functions to include:
class and patient registration, scheduling, charge entry, faxing, photocopying and delivery of therapy notes/records to the appropriate physician(s) or other hospital personnel.
Periodically inventories supplies.
Assists with ordering, stocking and cleaning of departmental equipment and supplies.
Maintains water chemistry and pool surroundings.
Maintains established department policies, procedures, and objectives, concerning quality assurance, safety, environmental conditions and infection control.
Works collaboratively with other nonprofessional and professional staff, Therapy Coordinators and the Operations Director regarding departmental needs.
QualificationsPreferred
Experience:
Aquatics and/or fitness background.
Required License:
Basic Life Support (BLS) with the American Heart Association.
Nebraska Swimming Pool Operator Licensure required within 6 months of hire.
Pay Range$14.
78 - $20.
