Overview:
As our IT Business Analyst, you will act as a liaison between the business community, technical community for the discovery and translation of business needs and is an integral part of the successful design and implementation of software business solutions.
Discovers and documents business and functional requirements.
Communicates regularly with IT and business stakeholders as the scope of the effort dictates.
Serves as subject matter expert to technical and QA teams to develop their understanding of project functional requirements.

Responsibilities:
Essential Functions Works with the product management and business community to understand their needs and translate them into detailed business requirements and functional design specifications for large, medium and small projects Prepares with technical team, technical design specifications, to include screen layout/design, process flow charts, functionality documents, database requirements documentation and/or general documentation Works with programming staff during development stage to answer questions, provide guidance for business logic and ensure project understanding Documents and diagrams the business current and proposed processes Proposes efficient, effective and practical solutions to business problems Ensures that proposed processes, products, and/or services effectively integrate with or replace existing processes, products, and/or services to achieve an improved result Adheres to Project Management Office team standards regarding the Project Delivery Process Familiar with both Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies Works with the IT Project Manager to establish reasonable milestones and manage time effectively Maintains regular and predictable attendance Abides by all policies and procedures of Oriental Trading Company Must be able to attend face to face meetings on short or little advance notice Work in the Information Technology Department office environment requires in-person collaboration among colleagues and contractors Researches and resolves software problems Participates in ongoing process improvement initiatives within the team and across IT Performs other related duties and projects as assigned Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Technical knowledge of software systems analysis preferred Ability to obtain and maintain a level of understanding of general business process flows Ability to gain knowledge of current customer, enterprise and industry trends and issues within the customer area and the ability to relate these to bottom line performance Ability to effectively identify customer priorities and align work and services accordingly Excellent organizational skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to articulate and translate complex technical concepts and problems into clear and concise language for employees outside of the IT community Ability to translate a conceptual solution or alternative into a descriptive model, specification, user stories, data flow diagram, or other meaningful method that defines the process required to build the product or perform the service to satisfy the associated business need Ability to use MS Office products:
Word, Excel, Visio, Power Point Ability to use JIRA Dimensions of Responsibility Forms highly collaborative partnerships and working relationships with all areas of business to lead the development of business requirements and functional specifications in IT projects Heres what you need to join the fun:
