Summary:
Lead Van Driver is responsible for meeting transportation needs of CDHC as well as leading van driver staff in morale, education, organization and time management.
POSITION-SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Point person for the day to day operations and workflow of the transportation department Ensure routes are distributed daily and understood by the transportation team Creates Daily Transport Report using NextGen and distributes as appropriate Serves as liaison between CDHC and patients and staff within homeless shelters and public housing towers to ensure residents are being transferred as expected Promote CDHC services to all special populations including but not limited to the homeless and public housing patient populations Regularly identify opportunities and provide solutions to improve the daily transportation process Provide up-to-date information to other team members throughout the day Regularly report vehicle or transportation issues to the Patient Access Manager as soon as they become apparent Abide by all state and local driving laws Transport patients, clients, and participants to and from various pre-approved locations Pick up and deliver mail to included interoffice mail from CDHC locations and US post office Delivering medications and labs to appropriate locations Pick up and deliver to the appropriate locations the following:
medications, labs, soiled lab coats X-Rays, Transport supplies between CDHC locations as needed Confirm and print daily route schedule Update vehicle registration and insurance as needed Ensure HIPAA compliance when dealing with or transporting protected health information Ensure safety compliance regarding seatbelt use and car seat use Collaborate with Patient Access Manager to determine safe driving training and other training needs for the transportation team Ensure smooth transition of updated policies, procedures and compliances Complete daily pre-trip inspection and checklist of assigned vehicle Ensure vehicles are well kept and clean internal and external Develop schedule for weekly deep cleaning and sanitation schedule for vans On light transportation days, assist as needed with light maintenance or other tasks as determined by the Supervisor POSITION REQUIREMENTS Education:
High School diploma or equivalent or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
Licensure:
Valid Driver's License required, CPR certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire required
Experience:
Satisfactory driving record; At least 3 years passenger transport strongly preferred; CDL Preferred Language:
