4 Full-time 1 hour ago Full Job Description What does a successful z/OS Systems Programmer do at Fiserv? The z/OS Systems Programmer will provide configuration/implementation support for the following items running in a mainframe environment:
z/OS Communication Server (TCP/IP, VTAM), all transmission software and miscellaneous Software (Session Managers, NetMaster, etc.
).
They will also manage all encryption requirements (AT-TLS, IPSEC) related to the above-mentioned products.
Additionally, the z/OS Systems Programmer will manage all security requirements (Certificates, Cyphers) related to the above-mentioned products, and work with Operations to perform problem determination, manage dumps, vendor relations and fix management for the above products.
What you will do:
Configure, implement, and troubleshoot TCP/IP, VTAM, and other communications protocols including implementing AT-TLS and other security solutions Work with senior team members to perform problem determination and resolution, capture and transmit system dumps, closely work with vendor's technical support, apply fixes and patches, coordinate testing and implementation of fixes and new versions, and work with other mainframe-based or midrange-based technical teams on production roll-out Work with internal customers to clarify technical requests, testing and validation, and project support needs Work with capacity and performance teams in proactively addressing potential performance issues impacting service levels Work with computer operations to quickly resolve incidents and automate operational processes such as IPLs and stand-alone dump processing Support and participate in Disaster Recovery exercises Provide on-call support What you will need to have:
Minimum 5 years' experience with the following items in a mainframe environment:
TCP/IP, VTAM, and other communications protocols including implementing AT-TLS and other security solutions IPLs Disaster Recovery Associate's degree or relevant certifications/work history.
