The QA Manager is obligated to inform the J.
Skinner President if he/she perceives there to be a risk that is not being addressed by company management, production procedures, facility conditions, food safety policies or any other activity that could challenge the companies Quality and Sanitation integrity.
The QA Manager plans, coordinates, and directs the quality assurance programs; develops and analyzes statistical data and product specifications to determine present standards and establish proposed quality and reliability expectancy of finished product.
The QA Manager directs, through intermediate personnel, workers engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure continuous control over materials, facilities, and products.
The QA Manager promotes, and organizes training activities related to product quality and safety.
The Manager of Plant Quality must investigate and respond to customer complaints regarding product quality and product safety.
The QA Manager of understands and complies with all food safety policies, procedures and programs as stated in the Company's Food Safety Manual.
The QA Manager must have HACCP certification and is the company back-up to the Director of Corporate Quality Assurance.
The QA Manager is also the back-up SQF practitioner.
Duties and Responsibilities Indicate Essential Functions with Asterisk ( ) The QA Manager is responsible for promoting quality achievement and performance improvement throughout the organization.
Responsible for identifying relevant quality-related training needs and delivering training.
Responsible for setting QA compliance objectives and ensuring that targets are achieved.
The QA Manager is responsible for ensuring that company MCP's (Manufacturing Control Plans) are adhered to and our product meets the established criteria.
Responsible for facilitating daily product panel reviews.
Responsible for maintaining awareness of the business context and company profitability, including budgetary control issues.
Responsible for ensuring compliance with standards and legislation.
Responsible for directing the application of environmental and health and food safety standards.
Responsible for monitoring standards and establishing clearly defined quality methods for the quality staff to apply.
The QA Manager in conjunction with the Director of Corporate Quality Assurance is responsible for defining quality procedures in conjunction with the operating staff.
The QA Manager in conjunction with the Director of Corporate Quality Assurance is responsible for setting up and maintaining controls and documentation procedures.
Responsible for developing/analyzing performance data and charts against defined parameters.
Responsible for ensuring tests and procedures are properly understood, carried out and evaluated.
Responsible for supervising the quality technical staff in carrying out tests and checks.
Responsible for writing technical and management systems reports.
The QA Manager is a liaison with customers and auditors and is responsible for ensuring the execution of corrective actions and compliance directives with customers' specifications.
Responsible for ensuring standards of service for customers.
Responsible for monitoring performance by gathering relevant data and producing statistical reports.
Responsible for ensuring city, county, state, and federal regulations relating to the quality department are met at all times.
Responsible for coordinating activities with Plant Operations Departments, External Operations, Finance and Purchasing.
Responsible for training and maintaining all training records for SQF food safety and quality requirements.
The QA Manager is responsible for documenting and maintaining a training registry for all employees at the manufacturing site.
Responsible for conducting employee performance reviews based upon their specific job description to determine competency, knowledge, and contribution level.
Responsible for developing and tracking departmental KPIs.
The QA Manager is expected to be knowledgeable of market and industry trends, competitors, and leading customer strategies.
The QA Manager must receive at a minimum 16 hours annually of department related training or education.
The QA Manager is expected to be a role model for the company culture.
The QA Manager understands and complies with all food safety policies, procedures and programs as stated in the Company's Food Safety Manual.
Participates as a functional member of the food safety team, and enforce the Food Safety Manual policies.
This includes collaborating, leading and supporting Quality Assurance in order to resolve food safety issues.

Skills and Experience Minimum of 5yrs of experience working in a food processing environment (preferably within the baking industry) Experience working with SQF standards or similar protocols.
Knowledge and experience with FDA regulations and the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Previous HACCP and GMP training or work experience within a process that used these standards Experience working with union employees in a fast paced environment Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work with people as part of a team.
Strong math and statistical ability Strong PC skills Ability to communicate effectively with peer group and all levels of management Ability to organize data and interpret results Qualifications Minimum Education Required:
Bachelor's degree in a food science discipline or equivalent industry experience.
Educational background in food safety/sanitation or process manufacturing.
