Work Schedule:Mon-Fri 20 hours/week varied hours 12p-12a with a weekly Sat/Sun shift (may vary as needed)
Promotion to Child & Family Services Specialist will occur after successful completion of required classroom and on-the-job training programs.
Examples of Work:
This is a 24/7 hotline dedicated to abuse and neglect reports of children and adults. Answer incoming calls, gather information, determine action to take, and enter information into a statewide computer system. Use outline of questions to gather information and demonstrate critical thinking skills to ask additional questions. Organize information to determine appropriate level of response. Professional voice and demeanor required. Develop knowledge of community resources, system process, and statewide information to adequately respond to questions and requests. Develop a close, collaborative relationship with law enforcement to assist in response to calls and requests for placement/services. Use NFOCUS (a statewide information computer system) to quickly obtain data and input new reports.
Qualifications / Requirements:
REQUIREMENTS: Consideration will be given to applicants who will receive a Bachelors degree within 90 days of application date. Bachelors degree in social work, psychology, sociology, counseling, human development, mental health care, education, criminal justice, or closely related area.
OTHER: After hire, must be certified in training which de-escalates and manages communication and physical interactions. Valid driver's license or the ability to provide independent authorized transportation. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
