## Description
Job Summary/Essential Duties:
Provides evaluation, psychosocial history and assessments.
Conducts therapy sessions with patient by doing individual, group and family and/or significant other counseling and education to assist these individuals in achieving defined treatment goals.
Refers and collaborates with other internal and external agencies and significant others having a joint interest in meeting the needs of the client.
Participates in the Alegent Health System and Behavioral Service Line quality initiatives to measurably demonstrate quality clinical outcomes. Collaborates with patients, families and internal and external customers to ensure excellence in satisfaction with services.
Collaborate with consulting physician and treatment team in the formation of comprehensive treatment plans and discharge plans. Serves as a resource specialist for unit staff.
Complete assessments, progress notes, group notes and treatment plan updates in accordance with charting policy and procedures
Respond to crisis situations and provide crisis intervention to patients in assigned program.
Make appropriate referrals in collaboration with the care manager in the discharge planning process for each patient's follow-up Mental Health/Substance Abuse care.
Hours: 3p-11:30p and every other weekend.

## Qualifications

One year of therapy experience as mastered prepared clinician.

_Education/Licensure - Masters Level_

Required:
Master's Degree, Mental Health Counseling/Social Work
Must have a current license/certification in one of the following areas:
Licensed Mental Heath Practitioner (LMHP) in Nebraska
Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Iowa.
Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) in Iowa
Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) in Iowa
Licensed Marital and Family Therapist (LMFT) in Iowa
Certified Master Social Worker (CMSW)
Certified Social Worker (CSW)
Provisional Licensed Mental Health Practitioner (PLMHP)
Licensed Independent Mental Heath Practitioner (LIMHP) in Nebraska
License must be held in the state you provide services.
Will obtain the following within six (6) months of employment:
CPI Certification
Mandatory Child Abuse Reporting (if working in Iowa)
BLS or BLS instructor certification is required upon hire. Acceptable credentialing bodies and certifications include the following: American Red Cross: CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, American Safety and Health Institute: CPR, PRO, must say Professional Level-with AED, and American Heart Association: Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers.
_Knowledge/Skills/Abilities_
The Program Therapist must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide therapy appropriate to the age of patients served. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development needs over the lifespan as directed in the departmental
policies, procedures, performance appraisal standards and/ or by competency programs. Must possess strong knowledge of Behavioral Services; knowledge of DSMIV diagnostic criteria and appropriate treatment planning for the various diagnostic categories; basic knowledge of managed care and community services and requirements; ability to process and complete charting tasks in a timely manner; knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and professional standards; good communication skills; demonstrates personal traits of a high level of motivation; team orientation; professionalism; trust; and place a high value on treating others with dignity and respect. Willingness to comply with any mandated licensure or certifications.
Will obtain the following within six (6) months of employment:
Basic Life Support
CPI Certification
Mandatory Child Abuse Reporting-APS (IA only)
