_Overview:_
The Information Security Architect is a team role within the Information Security department responsible for information security for First National Technology Solutions. The FNTS Security Team is responsible for driving security strategy and direction, developing and executing roadmaps, developing and maintaining security policies and strategies, developing re-usable solutions, and acting as subject matter experts in the services and solutions provided to the organization. The architect develops and helps drive the adoption of technical security strategy, standards, design patterns, and best practices across all areas of the company. Actively participates as a project team member and/or project team leader if necessary. Information Security subject matter expert on a wide variety of company projects and initiatives. Maintains a deep level of expertise in multiple technical domains (e.g., firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention, malware prevention, web content filtering, application security, email monitoring and controls, etc.) and provides/contributes to thought leadership in these areas. Contributes to the day to day operations of the team.

Responsibilities:_
The Information Security Architect will support the implementation and administration of information security policies, practices, and procedures in order to ensure the protection of confidential information.
Information Security Architect is required to manage and maintain the day to day security operations and system change lifecycle of our critical security devices and tools. This includes Firewalls, IDS/IPS, Web Proxy, AV servers. The ideal candidate will provide senior technical support for all security devices.
Detecting and responding to security violations, and assisting auditors and reporting status of audit issues and managing security-related projects.
Be prepared to handle threats directed against enterprise Networks, hosts, and data on a 7 x 24 x 365 basis.
Development and execution against visions, strategies, and roadmaps.
Development of architecture approaches and solutions in the security space, including consulting to the business and IT teams on security requirements and risk management.
Provide guidance and direction to leadership on key security issues.
Leads or participates in projects and other activities involving the use of security technologies related to the protection of company systems and data.
Participates in the planning, development and implementation of data and system security controls.
Consults on security direction, maintaining a focus on assurance of enterprise information assets.
Analyze gaps between current and target security architecture.
Develops and implements strategies to close identified gaps in security architecture.
Present security status and project status to management.

The ideal candidate will have the following:

years professional experience managing enterprise Firewall/Security environments.
Familiar with administration of Cisco firewalls, plus other firewall organizations (Checkpoint, Palo Alto, Juniper).
Knowledge managing IDS/IPS systems.
Knowledge managing Proxy Architecture.
In depth knowledge of Network Security Architecture.
CISSP preferable but not essential.
Experience of working with MSS providers or in security operations.
Extensive knowledge of industry and Government standards as applicable to Information Protection and Assurance and knowledge of Information Security best practices and business controls.
Candidates must have good practical experience in information security, and a well-rounded knowledge of IT.
Technical expertise in multiple information security domains. (e.g. Network security devices such as firewalls and intrusion detection/prevention systems; vulnerability assessment/penetration testing; malware protection measures; etc.)
Must have broad and deep technical knowledge and be able to learn new technologies rapidly and independently.
Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
