## Position Summary
Employment at the University of Nebraska at Omaha is provided under a program of financial assistance to students and will not be covered for unemployment benefits per Nebraska Revised Statute 48-604 (6)(j).
Essential Duties &
Responsibilities:

Writing center interns assist the Director, Associate Director, and staff with a wide range of projects, develop website content, assist students with writing through one-with-one and small group tutoring sessions, help students make accounts and schedule appointments in the online scheduling system (WC Online), advertise writing center services through class presentations and other on-campus events, participate in pre-semester training (Jan/Aug) and mandatory weekly staff meetings, complete Client Report Forms following sessions, keep an accurate record of time worked and submit for payroll, maintain the confidentiality of student records, and communicate problems clearly, quickly, and responsibly to the Associate Director and/or Director. Interns must also identify and complete one larger project in consultation with the Director/Associate Director.
Schedule varies.
Additional Duties:
Design and facilitate, along with the director and senior staff, writing workshops for undergraduate and graduate students.
Minimum
Qualifications:
Must be an undergraduate student currently enrolled for at least 1 credit at UNO and in good standing. Must be able to demonstrate ability or potential to talk productively about a wide range of writing with a wide range of writers across academic disciplines. Must have completed an Internship Contract either through the Department of English or another department, including prior permission from the Writing Center Director, Dr. Travis Adams.
