Gallup is looking for a full-time front-end engineer with experience in JavaScript programming to join our team in our Omaha, Nebraska, office. As a front-end engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining Web-based applications with a focus on Java. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of experience in software engineering and at least three years of experience in developing, implementing, and maintaining Java-based systems. Knowledge of core Java and Web application development is a must.
Candidates for this opportunity must have a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in computer science/MIS.
Skills:
o Deep understanding of OO JavaScript
o Deep understanding of the DOM and various efficiency techniques (especially for IE 8 )
o Knowledge of at least one unit-testing library, preferably Mocha or Jasmine
o Ability to build bespoke JS frameworks if needed
o Knowledge of a client-side MV framework, preferably Backbone (with Marionette) or Ember
o Experience building single-page applications
o Experience building Node.js middleware using Express or a bespoke framework
o Experience building RESTful APIs
o Experience with both the middle tier and front end
o Ability to build applications/modules using mock data
