This position is a hands-on leader with floor experience. Executives and VP's need not apply!
The Cargo Plant Manager will assist the GM in overseeing a non-union, growing manufacturing plant. It's a lot of production, working with metals, paint, etc. BIG on safety, OSHA, and environmental concerns.
We require a strong communicator who can connect with and motivate the people on the floor. The majority of time will be on the floor leading a transition to the next level of performance in the plant. Two supervisors report to this position.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist the GM in the hiring, development and management of plant personnel
Assist GM in educating/training plant associates, HR, industrial engineering, product development, safety, production enhancements and profitability
MUST HAVE
Associate Degree
Manufacturing experience a must
Possess Skills in All Facets of Manufacturing Plant Management
Managing an operation in excess of $30 million
Looking for experience/exposure with these and more -- Lean Manufacturing, 5S, JIT, TQC, etc.
3 years front line supervision in a manufacturing environment - assembly is a definite plus
1 year experience in an increased role in manufacturing - superintendent, manager, coordinator, a level above supervisor.
People skills - able to handle confrontation, establish expectations and hold people accountable.
Experience with operating plans and budgets on a departmental level.
Proficient MS Office and email
Energetic Personality
Ability to Multi-Task
Hands-On Management Style
Results Oriented Mentality
SHOULD HAVE
10 years manufacturing experience.
BS degree highly desired but not required
3 years of experience in a production / department manager position in manufacturing.
Lean manufacturing experience at the floor level
Extensive floor savvy - be able to solve problems on the spot.
Strong communication skills
Strong planning skills
