PRINCIPLE
Responsibilities:
Schedules, Reschedules and Coordinates Patient Clinic Appointments and Procedures for high
Volume, fast paced Practice(s)
Helps to support obtaining pre-certification authorization as needed for both primary and secondary insurance carriers at least one (1) week prior to scheduled date
Ensures patient financial policy is explained to patient and makes arrangements for prepayment for cosmetic, self-pay and commercial insurance deductibles and co-insurance when applicable.
Charts Progress Notes for Surgery Scheduling, including all scheduling messages and voice mail messages regarding patient.
Checks scheduling voice mail messages routinely throughout the day and ensures all patient messages have been returned before leaving for the day.
Faxes or sends History and Physicals or necessary information to Hospital prior to surgery as needed.
Enters appointment times and dates into both practice management system and physician personal calendars or schedulers as applicable.
Prepares the chart with all necessary paperwork; ensures all related work is completed and delivered to the appropriate areas by the designated time. Organizes physician order sheets daily according to the schedule. Assembles department additions to the chart.
Hours: M-F 8am-5pm
## Qualifications

Qualifications:

Experience Preferred :
Computer, math, clerical/business with customer service emphasis
All preferred experience components with a minimum of three year's experience in an health care setting performing scheduling responsibilities.
Knowledge of medical computerized scheduling systems and surgery scheduling procedures
Knowledge of medical terminology.
Specialty specific a plus.

Education Preferred :
High school diploma; GED equivalent with an aptitude in math, Office/clerical skills, computer applications Community/Business College Administrative Assistant Certification with medical terminology
