Responsibilities:

The UNO Study Abroad Office relies on Peer Advisors for various support tasks key to day to day function of the office, in addition to longer term projects. The Study Abroad Peer Advisor acts as a first point of contact for students interested in studying abroad. Peer Advisors will discuss and research program options, application requirements and procedures with interested students. Peer Advisors are also involved in the promotion of study abroad on-campus through study abroad events and classroom presentations. Administrative support is provided to the Study Abroad Advisor as needed. Additional duties as assigned. Variable schedule.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
