Description:
Reads and comprehends blue prints and drawings, measures and positions parts to be MIG welded , welds parts as needed to complete weldments' according to specs, grinds and smooth's welds where needed, operates stud welder to shoot studs on skin panels, preps steel prior to painting to remove imperfections (scratches) in steel. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all unites of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
Specifically: Must have prior experience with blueprint reading. Must be able to read a tape measure to 1/32, and have experience with part layout and fitting. Must be able to weld mild steel of various thicknesses using a MIG welder, and have experience using basic air and electric power tools.
1-3 years Experience in role. Joins surfaces, or otherwise fabricates or repairs metal structures or materials by applying various welding processes such as arc, tig, mig, resistance, solid state and/or electroslag. May use cutting torch to separate metal plate or pipe stock. Possesses specialized knowledge of welding technology and metallurgy. Requires a apprenticeship or equivalent training, experience and prior certification. Uses specific specialized personal protective equipment. Requires back support belt. -
Steel toed shoes required.
HS diploma or GED required.
